J.A. Cooley Museum

Welcome!

The J.A. Cooley Museum, founded by Jim and Carmen Cooley in 1996, is the result of a lifetime spent preserving the remarkable history of the technology from the late eighteen hundreds to the early nineteen hundreds.

On display is San Diego's Best Collection of 100 Year Old Vehicles.  With two dozen automobiles, dating from 1886 to 1933, feature exhibits include the first car from (Mercedes) Benz and the Buick XP 2000 - a concept car that features video conferencing and can travel up to 210 miles per hour!
In addition to the automobile collection the museum also boasts over 20 categories of antiques represented by collections such as model trains, spittoons, clocks, phonographs, and pianos, to name a few.

"This is a phenomenal museum!!!  As the website states, it is a hidden treasure, and this is absolutely correct.  I love the new TV shows, American Pickers, and Pawn Stars.  Anyone who has remote interest in American History may go nuts over the amazing items in this museum..." - 15 September 2010

"What a hidden treasure.  I could have spent all day there.  The owner and curator is  very nice and gave us a tour and demonstrated a lot of the antiques.  I would recommend for 5 and up as things are tempting for small hands." - 1 October 2007
